I am sickened by the presidential process of constant attack, envy, jelousy, fraud, and outright lies. This applies across the board. The Tea Party arose and dumped many who were taking this country in a direction that, frankly, scares the hell out of people. Since there is effective challenges to the establishment there is great worry and hatred focused on them.
I recently read a story of the plot to take over the White House in the thirties and install a Facist government. I am sure you never heard of it. An uncle of mine who was a US Senator at the time was on the Congressional committee that held hearings on it.
Due to the passionate patriotism of a Marine General, who they targeted to lead it, put an end to the plot. Many of the heads of the largest companies and financiers in the world were behind it. It reached clear into the cabinet level of the Whitehouse.
At the time there was a great deal of support for the rise of Facism in Italy, France, and Spain. And unbelievably, a lot of support for Adolf Hitler's take over of the German Government. Many of our brightest thinkers, scientists, and social reformers supported Eugenetics. The thought processes that lead directly to the Holacaust.
Do we learn from History? Do we evaluate the writen record that is before us with an impartial eye? Not very well.
Those who do are worried that this country can survive. How do we point out that all the steps that in the past lead to countrywide and worldwide disaster? When it is done the messenger is treated with hatred, anger, and contempt.
Does it bother anyone that the media measures everything in the presidential process by money? Romney has spent 4 times Gingrich, Obama has near 1 Billion in his re-election process, other candidates though they may be better, cannot spend enough?
What happened to integrity? What happened to clear ideas and solutions? Who is destroying the American dream? How do you allow those who do nothing to be supported by those who have a work ethic? How do you say God Bless America when he is thrown out? How do you rationalize the thought of Shira law so we can be tolerent? How can you ignore a family to kill three daughters and two others for "family honor"?
I begrudge no one who wants to come to this country to breath free air and grasp for the American Dream. But do you not understand the word 'illegal'?
So why should I not be worried?

What Does Europe know that we don't?
The hostile take over of the Country Music industry years ago created a huge dis-service to the music loving public. When formated and formula music brought the LA sound into country and went after the young crowd so many great artists were put out to pasture. And many more talented artists cannot get their music on the air.
After a while the listening public that takes no in depth interest in music keeps getting told what they like and they fall for it. Remember Country and Western? Well Western did not just go away and neither did solid country artists. Thank goodness networks like RFD TV, Blue Hiways, & Rural TV have become a haven for the Classic style Country artist. Plus Branson has provided a venue for a lot of great talent you never hear on the radio.
So what does this have to do with Europe? Well the two consistant top Country male artists in Europe are George Strait and RW Hampton. If you don't recognise RW Hampton, he is the top WESTERN male artist from Cimmaron NM. RW was just inducted into the WESTERN MUSIC HALL OF FAME. Bet you have not heard of it either, unless you are a devoted western fan.
Everyone who knows me knows that I could careless what is going on overseas other than being ticked that our jobs keep moving there. This is the one exception. What do they know? They still have a radio industry that is not bought and paid for by the Dutch or Japan.
How do you hear Western on your radio. Heck if I know, we have been trying to address that issue since the 1980's. But we are trying.
A bit of trivia, Slim Whitman had a good career in Country Western, when shut out he became a mega star in Europe. Not until an infomercial did the US rediscover him and his unusual style of music. Something is broken in the land of the free and home of brave.
What can you do? Rediscover Western and Acoustic music. Go to www.westernmusic.org . Call your radio stations and request the artists you like. And quit letting a corporate office tell you what you like.
Also ask your local live venue about booking western artists. By the way when was the last time on a country song you could understand all the words, besides Red Dixie Cup?

NEW AGE BALONEY
I have experienced many times how hard it is to convince people to follow a course of action just because it is right. It is amazing how different groups and factions try to scare or stampede an action, when really they have a different goal. Hyping a subject with scare tactics always makes me stop and go 'what is the real motivation here'?
Take Global Warming for an example. The statistics that was used by the United Nations to force acceptance of the Kobe Initiative was exposed as using faked statistics. This was an obvious attempt to control many nations worldwide but mostly the USA. After exposing the lie and the hundreds of scientists that bought into it were wearing egg on their faces, the scientists, that did not buy into it that were called kooks, are now looking like the thoughtful researchers that they are. But as time goes on there are new 'statistics' that are carrying on as before.
If you recall back to the 60's and 70's we had real problems with water and air. Dioxin contaminated oil was being used to keep dust down on city streets in many places. Housing developments were built on old hazardous dump sites. Cancer and deformed children were rampant in contaminated areas. Thus the EPA and the Super Fund was created to correct some of these problems.
We have made so much progress on cleaning up and not messing our own nest up that groups have seized on the original intent to create power groups for other purposes. In the charter and printed word of many groups, the failed advocates of socialism and communism moved into the environment. Don't recoil and comment back at me until you read what they really have done, said, and continue to do.
An e-mail that I recieved put a lot into prospective about an old lady and the young checker at the local grocery store. I will shorten and give you the gist of it.
"THE GREEN THING: The young cashier asked if she had brought her own bags because the plastic ones were not good for the environment. The lady said we did not have these things in my day. The clerk snipped "that is our problem today, your generation did not care enough to save the environment for our generation".
She was right our generation did not have the GREEN thing. Back then we returned milk, pop, and beer bottles to be reused. We walked up stairs because we did not have escalators. We did not climb into a 300 horsepower machine to go two blocks. We washed baby diapers and clothing and hung them on a line to dry. We handed down clothes and not bought new ones on a whim. We had one TV and a radio in the house and not one in every room. The screen was small and black and white and we had three channels to watch. We did things in the kitchen by hand, we did not have a bunch of electric machines. We packaged fragile items in newspaper not styrofoam peanuts and bubble wrap. We pushed lawn mowers not riding them, we did not have a health club to run too for excercise.
When we were thirsty we drank water from a cup, from well water not a plastic bottle. Blades were replaced in razors and the old ones were used to take paint off the windows after we painted by hand. We rode the bus to school and people in town walked or rode the bus and trolley. We had one electric outlet on a wall because we did not have all the electronic stuff to plug in. We cooked at home or went to the cafe instead of ordering in pizza that was delivered by car.
But yes we did not have the green thing back then.
Don't tell me the polar bear is in trouble there are thousands in the Arctic now, than in the 70's when there were hundreds. NEWS FLASH ice melts in the summer time. You only hear about the ice cap melting then not in the winter. Thank God for global warming or we would have an iceberg still over Kansas City and the Northern Half of the continent.
You don't throw trash because it is lazy and sloppy. You pick it up because you have a little pride and self respect. You search for alternative forms of energy because it is the right thing to do and we are tired of fighting wars for people who don't like us and would like to kill us. We want advances in stack scrubbers and clean coal development because it is what we have an abundance of. We want our resources developed because we are tired of other countries telling us how much we are going to pay.
We clean up messes because it is the right thing to do. Not threatened that the world is ending. At the rate of Carbon Dioxide sequestration that the United Nations wants us to attain, the rate of it will be below what sustains life. Scientific fact 'Plants use CO2 and give oxygen'. Plants grow better with a higher level than less.
Quit trying to kill the country with hope and change and lets get back to work with a little dignity. It is the right thing to do!

2012
It is the time of year that everything is new and a positive attitude prevails. We are all happy and bright because the last year is gone and we are full of hope for the next. OK I try. Then I turn on the news and it is the same vast wasteland. The Iowa Caucases, missing babies, lobster divers in Haiti crippled to provide a 'living' for their families. Plus the latest divorce by celebraties that I don't know and could care less about.
I have to withdraw from the TV and wait for the RFD broadcast of the Rose Parade. Why RFD? Because the other stations have to continually talk about nothing. Families all over are watching for their kids in the bands to come marching down the street after laboring to raise money for the trip. Then the TV stations who traditionally broadcast them cut to talk about zip, and go to commercial.
I have to commend Patrick Gottsch and RFD for remembering that people want to see everything. There is limited commercials and Pam Minnick and Orien Samuelson promise to shut up when something interesting is on and also let the bands play. This is really starting off the new year on a good note.
For the rest of the country we will be bombarded by lies and accusations about candidate after candidate and the facts will be lost in the nastiness. With a President and all his cronies that are documented to be socialists and radicals we hope for CHANGE.
And for all the bums in Congress of all parties may your careers be short and may the states elect someone who really cares about the country being bought and controlled by China. And may all the radical factions that use causes as another excuse to control a free people, may you finally be exposed for who you are and some form of common sense prevails.
In a recent interview, a California farmer brought up the fact that within 3 years eggs will not be produced in that state because of regulation and the power of groups who would rather see eggs from China and Beef from Brazil, than let the American Farmer do what he is the best in the world at.
With all the emotionalism and pop science that takes the place of good practice it makes you very pessimistic.
So with very mixed emotions I wish everyone a Happy New Year!
